While plot details have been scant onStar Wars: Episode VIIIthus far, we have known for quite some time that it begins directly after the end ofStar Wars: The Force Awakens, where Rey (Daisy Ridley) meets Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) for the first time. There have been a slew of plot rumors that have surfaced since filming started, and today we have another one, that centers onJohn Boyega’s breakout character Finn. There may be potential SPOILERS below, so read on at your own risk.

This new report comes fromMaking Star Wars, which has new details on how Finn is recovering from hislightsaber battlewith Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) towards the end ofStar Wars: The Force Awakens. We last saw Finn getting a friendly goodbye kiss from Rey as they parted ways, and after that kiss, this report claims that medical staff members have placed Finn in a “bubble suit,” which the site’s sources claim is called a “bacta suit.” There is reportedly a sequence where Finn is “cut or removed from.” When he emerges, Finn is said to be in “better condition than ever before.”

The site also reports that after emerging healed from the “bacta suit,” Finn goes on a journey that will make him “a big deal” within the ranks of the Resistance. It’s worth noting thatJohn Boyegahimself has teased in an interview earlier this year thatStar Wars 8is “much darker” and he has a much physical role this time around. We reported in August that an early cut is almost finished, withJohn Williamsbeginning work on the score, but it still isn’t known when we may see the first trailer.

Disney and LucasFilm haven’t issued an official plot synopsis forStar Wars: Episode VIIIyet, but it has been rumored that Rey begins her Jedi training with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). There have been rumors that the nefarious Kylo Ren captures both Finn and Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), in an effort to lure Rey out of hiding and face him in battle once more. Those details have yet to be confirmed, butStar WarsiconWarwick Davisrecently teased that he is returning in some capacity for this sequel.
