Right beforeStar Wars Day,Harrison Fordgot in a plane crash that kept him away from the festivities. While his co-starsCarrie FisherandMark Hamillshowed up to show off a new trailer, directorJ.J. Abramsclaimed thatHarrison Fordreally wanted to be there, but couldn’t because of healthy reasons. Most wrote that off as a nice sentiment, knowing that the actor has never been too fond of talking about his former glories. Most thought he didn’t want anything to do with the promotional side of things. Well, that wasn’t theHarrison Fordthat showed up last night inHall Hfor theStar Wars: The Force Awakenspanel.
Harrison Fordtruly looked moved to tears as he spoke about what the Star Wars movies mean to him. And he made some spry jokes as he reunited with his former costars for the first time in public. The actor spoke fondly of his past experiences, and seemed to genuinely enjoy being there. This was far removed from his debut experience at the Con way back in 2011 forCowboys & Aliens. The actor had to be dragged in by handcuffs, and once in front of the audience, went onto be his usually surly, snarly self.

The actor offers a rare interview forStar Wars:The Force Awakensbehind the Hall H stage. It isn’t known how much he’ll be out and about promoting the movie forLucasfilmonce December rolls around. So this may be our one and only chance to see the actor offer his thoughts on the project. Rumor has it that this is the lastStar Warsmovie he will appear in. Perhaps that’s why he offered this short meet & greet. His two co-stars,Carrie FisherandMark Hamill, opted out of the press line.
