The series centers around the McLusky family,led by Mike (Renner), who acts as a power broker between the criminal underworld, law enforcement, and prison guards in the fictional Michigan city of Kingstown, home to seven prisons that stir the local economy. There’s family drama, gang violence, prison riots, mobsters, and corrupt cops, with multiple storylines involving over a dozen major characters. All of it certainly has King’s attention.

King appears to have started hisMayor of Kingstownmarathon on the Fourth of July, as that’s when he started tweeting about the series, proclaiming “I love this show,” while also admitting that “I have no f*****g clue what’s going on.”
King then pointed out the innate cool factor of Mike’s Lincoln Continental, which is almost a character in itself, as Renner is in the car for most of the show. He also threw out some love for actor Tobi Bamtefa, who plays the drug kingpin “Bunny” on the show.

The author even threw some sideways praise at series co-creator Hugh Dillon, who plays Detective Ian Ferguson.
Jeremy Renner got plenty of love from King, who pointed out that the Oscar-nominated actor made a miraculous recovery from a near-fatal snowplow accident to star in another season.
Finally, King pointed out the show’s love for profanity, which is a trademark of a Taylor Sheridan series.
