We still have a while to wait beforeStranger Things season 2makes its way onto Netflix next year, but the streaming service has made the show a major priority. That isn’t at all surprising, given the massive popularity. Also, since the first season was such a massive phenomenon, they don’t want to let it slip out of the public consciousness. That being the case, they have released a brand new promo forStranger Thingsseason 2.
Netflix dropped the promo on theirYouTubechannel recently to help satiate the feverish desire the public has for more episodes of the show. Sadly, there is no actual footage from season 2 ofStranger Things, but they only recently started filming, so that shouldn’t be expected just yet. In any case, the promo does deal with everyone’s favorite dead girl Barb. The promo is done as a news parody featuring veteran broadcast journalist Brenda Wood, who is reporting on the mysterious, some might say strange, disappearance of Barb fromStranger Things Season 1.

There was some hope from fans that Barb might make an appearance in season 2 ofStranger Things, but at New York Comic Con recently it was revealed byDavid Harbourthat she is most definitely dead. So, sadly, we probably won’t see her back next season, but Funko has come to the rescue for all of the Barb fans out there! The company recently revealed their initial line ofStranger Thingsinspired Funko Pop figures yesterday in honor of Halloween and yes, Barb is getting her own Pop figure.
Aside from Barb, Funko is also releasing Pops for Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Will and a couple of different version of Eleven complete with a box of Eggos. It was also confirmed recently thatMillie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven onStranger Things, will be a series regular for season 2, so that is great news for fans of the show. In addition to thecentral gangand Barb, there are also going to be two different Funko Pops for the Demogorgon, as well as figures for upside down Will and Eleven underwater. The figures are available for pre-order now and are expected to arrive in early 2017.

Not a lot is known aboutStranger Thingsseason 2, but we do know that it will be 9 episodes instead of 8 and that it will be coming sometimenext year. Hopefully sooner rather than later, but Netflix has yet to announce an official release date.
