Supermanfans have been given another behind the scenes look at the upcoming James Gunn reboot of the Man of Steel, this time with shots of a very familiar location taking center stage. After the reveal of David Corenswet as Superman earlier in the year, now some new images have delivered a look at one of the most famous workplaces in comic book history, theDaily Planet.
Written and directed by James Gunn, Superman is the first movie in Warner Bros.' rebooted DC Universe to center around the titular comic book hero. It introduces a new version of the Man of Steel after Henry Cavill’s departure from the role, honoring the character’s roots as “the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way.”

Shared byDCU Updates on X/Twitter, the images show the outside of the newspaper office, with an instantly recognizable logo, as well as a shot inside the lobby of the building. Several of Gunn’s earlier casting announcements included Skyler Gisondo as Daily Planet photographer Jimmy Olsen, and Wendell Pierce as the paper’s boss, Perry White. Meanwhile, he recently rounded out the cast with more reporters, such as Beck Bennet as Steve Lombard, Mikeala Hoover as Cat Grant, and Christopher McDonald as Ron Troupe. With the movie being partly pitched as a “workplace origin story,” it is clear that the Daily Planet is going to almost be its own character in the movie.
There is a lot still to be revealed about the new addition to the history of Superman on screen, includingthe actual plot of the movieand its main villain. Gunn has packed out his movie with familiar faces and names from the world of DC Comics, including the Engineer, and arch-villain Lex Luthor. However, how big a role Luthor will play in the events of the movie is currently unclear.

Who Else Stars in James Gunn’s Superman?
When it comes to big, blockbuster comic book movies, Gunn has proved himself to be able to do what is required to get audiences into cinemas. Having created the MCU’s Guardians of the Galaxy movies from a group of characters that many people had never heard of, and ending his Marvel journey with their only big hit of 2023 inGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, it is not surprising that Gunn has enlisted many stars, including a few he has worked with on many occasions, for his first big DCU offering. The upcoming movie has Corenswet being joined by Rachel Brosnahan as Clark Kent and Lois Lane respectively. They will be starring alongside Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho,Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Maria Gabriela de Faria as The Engineer, and Nicholas Hoult in the role of Lex Luthor.

While theanimatedCreature Commandoswill be the first DCU releaseunder Gunn and Peter Safran’s tenure of the franchise, it is the arrival ofSupermanthat will really indicate how invested fans are in the newest revamp of a DC Universe. The pair seem to have a very long-term plan, which became apparent when they announced “Chapter One: Gods and Monsters” back in 2022. Although there is still a year until the film arrives in cinemas, it is clear that Gunn has managed to stir up some early hype for the film’s release. Whether it will be enough to surpass the less than spectacular performance of recent DC offerings is something that, right now, we can only wait and see.
