The recent second episode ofThe Book of Boba Fett, titled “The Tribes of Tatooine,” has officially brought in a fan-favoriteStar Warscharacter into live-action for the very first time.SPOILERSfrom the latest episode ofThe Book of Boba Fettto follow, continue at your own risk. In “The Tribes of Tatooine,” the episode begins with Boba Fett trying to figure out who originally sent the assassins that appeared at the end of the series premiere. He then pays a visit to the mayor and then to Madam Garsa before finally learning that the people behind it all are actually a pair of Hutts looking to claim Jabba’s former territory. That’s all not even close to the exciting part about this week’s episode.
Along with the pair of Hutts speaking to Boba Fett,a scarred Wookie appears with his black fur, easily giving away his identity. That Wookie is none other than Black Krrsantan, a notorious bounty hunter in theStar Warsuniverse. He was first introduced in Marvel’sStar Warscomic books. Black Krrsantan was captured from his Wookie homeworld Kashyyyk, enslaved, and then trained as a gladiator before becoming a bounty hunter, who also has a past history with Boba Fett.
In theStar Warsuniverse, Wookiees tend to be portrayed as heroes and allies, but not this Wookie. This tall black-furred Wookiee cares for little else besides filling his pockets and using his fearsome fighting skills. He’s one of the very few bounty hunters whose track record rivals that of Boba Fett himself. Even Jabba the Hutt once considered Boba Fett and Black Krrsantan as two of his best agents.
Star Warsfans who have been following Marvel’sStar Warscomic book series were definitely excited to see the character make his live-action debut. Below are some reactions to Black Krrsantan’s appearance on the second episode ofThe Book of Boba Fett:
Black Krrsantan has been a recurring character in several of Marvel’s ongoingStar Warscomics since his original debut in 2015’sStar Wars: Darth Vader #1. Black Krrsantan has also encountered a number of familiarStar Warsheroes over the past few years. For instance, he once battled Obi-Wan Kenobi on Tatooine and briefly had a face-off against Han Solo and Chewbacca in theStar Wars: Vader Downcrossover event. Though this latest episode ofThe Book of Boba Fettdidn’t reveal much between Boba Fett and Black Krrsantan, that look of recognition for sure teases that their history together will be mentioned in the later episodes. The first two episodes ofThe Book of Boba Fettare currently available for streaming onDisney+, with new episodes arriving every Wednesday.
