But, according to the cast, there are also plenty of surprises in Season 5 that no one will be able to guess, including some grizzly deaths.

Who do I have to murder!?” Quaid said of the fan reactions to the show coming to an end. “And that’s a good sign. You don’t want the opposite, where they’re like, ‘Oh thank God’”

‘The Boys’ Creator Gives Major Updates on All Three Upcoming Franchise Projects

According to Eric Kripke, fans can expect a ‘Gen V’ Season 2 trailer drop and date announcement soon.

Eric Kripke thenchanneled his inner Homelander(without the murder and milk) by deviously teasing fans about some major deaths in the final season. “There will probably be lots of deaths,” the showrunner and creator said. Obviously, Kripke didn’t reveal who would survive the final season, but he teased that literally any of the characters could meet their end in Season 5. “There’s no guarantee of who’s gonna survive.”

‘The Boys’ Season 5 Features Some Major Shocks and Surprises

It should really go without saying that the final ever season ofThe Boyswill likely be filled with jaw-dropping, gut-wrenching, and even a few stomach-churning moments. Across four seasons, the series has gained a reputation for its major plot twists and shock/crass humor. Nathan Mitchell, who plays both the new and old Black Noir in the show, said that Season 5 pushes things even further, teasing, “there are some things that are coming in Season 5 that you’re not going to have on your bingo card.”

As for what to actually expect from Season 5, Eric Kripke has already confirmed that thebig battle between Homelander and Billy Butcheris coming. Outside their personal feud, there are several other side-plots the show needs to wrap up, including A-Train’s redemption arc, Annie and Hughie’s romance, and Mother’s Milk’s battle to win back his daughter. While Season 4 received some hate from fans, especially in its earlier episodes, Antony Starr said that season was necessary to set up what’s to come in the final season. He explained:

“I look at the last two seasons … like an accordion. One piece of the accordion is going out and then this is the compression going back in. There was a lot of setup in Season 4 for Season 5. Everything is gunning towards that climactic end. So it’s exciting at the moment because we’re filming all that.”

Season 5 ofThe Boysis currently in production. A release date has not yet been revealed.
