The Flash Season 1comes to a close tonight with"Fast Enough", airing at 8 PM ET on The CW, but some fans are already looking forward toThe Flash Season 2, which was ordered earlier this year. Of course, there isn’t much we know about the second season quite yet, but series starGrant Gustinrevealed in a new interview that the show will explore multiple timelines next season. Here’s what he had to say:
“What’s fun about this show is that there’s going to be multiple timelines as we move forward. I think we’re going to start showing Earth-One and Earth-Two in the near future. There will be kind of different dimensions going on.”
In the DC Comics, Earth One and Earth Two are just a few of the several different universes that make up the elaborate multiverse, but this could make it possible to show alternate sides to Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes), who, in the comics, eventually become villainous characters known as Killer Frost and Vibe.The Flashhas already crossed over multiple times withArrow, and there will surely be more crossovers to come next season withArrowand the upcoming midseason showDC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Carlos Valdes reveals these multiple universes onThe Flashcould make it trickier to pull off these crossovers, but he completely trusts the writers.
“It gets a little Rubik’s Cube-y in terms of keeping consistency between all these timelines and whatnot. But the writers have their stuff together. If I were to trust anyone, it would be them.”
While fans get ready for the season finale"Fast Enough"tonight, a new clip has been released, featuring Barry discussing his plans with his incarcerated father Henry (John Wesley Shipp), to travel back in time to save his mother. Henry, naturally, doesn’t think this is a good idea. When Barry tells his dad that Joe (Jesse L. Martin) approves of this idea, Henry says he can’t do this, claiming that there is a ‘natural order’ that will be disrupted if he goes back in time.
