Praetorian Guards in The Mandalorian

7Praetorian Guards

Theelite Praetorian guardsmade a surprising appearance alongside Moff Gideon in Season 3. The guards are clad in an all-red armor that was originally used by Imperial protectors of the Emperor. Their unique armor is not only intimidating, but the lower half of the armor allows for greater movement, giving them easier mobility in battle. Their helmets can vary in shape and overall size, but the general design of the Praetorian helmets is virtually the same. The Praetorian share a similar design to the classic Mandalorian helmet.

6Moff Gideon

Moff Gideon’s armor is reminiscent of Darth Vader’s. It is black and shiny, with a cape to help establish his menacing appearance. However;,his helmet is not revealed until Season 3, when he faces off against the Mandalorians. Gideon’s helmet is clearly Mandalorian-inspired in its design, featuring red sections and a tinted red visor to look through. What’s more, his armor is, in fact, an insult to Mandalorian culture as it is made of stolen Beskar and resembles the design that is sacred to Mandalorians.

5Paz Vizsla

Paz Vizsla’s armor was that of the Heavy Infantry of Mandalore. This made sense considering heavy weaponry was his go-to untilhis sacrifice in the end. Vizsla’s armor is blue and much bulkier than any other armor on the show, making him look intimidating. Furthermore, what’s is unique about Paz’s armor is his helmet, which is smaller and has a different shape to the typical Mandalorian helmet. Overall, Paz’s armor and helmet design makes him a clear force to be reckoned with.

4Boba Fett

Without a doubt,Boba Fett’s armoris one of the most iconic in theStar Warsuniverse. While it does not fit him like it used to, the armor has remained the same for decades. It was originally worn by Boba’s “father” Jango Fett inAttack of the Clonesand was altered to suit his needs as he became a deadly bounty hunter. Boba Fett’s armor set the baseline for Mandalorian armor since his was the first to ever be seen on-screen inThe Empire Strikes Back. With its distinctive colors and iconic rocket launcher, Boba Fett has his armor to thank for saving his life from the Sarlacc Pit.

3Din Djarin

Din Djarin began the series with a very shiny beskar helmet and basic armor. However, after his payment of pure beskar, the Armorer provides him with all beskar armor that is shiny, silver, and indestructible. While Din Djarin’s armor was compared to Boba Fett’s at first, the differences were made clear very quickly considering that Dn’s armor is all silver, giving him a very polished appearance, which is outstanding especially considering how much combat he’s seen. While Din Djarin’s armor does not have a strong history like Bo-Katan’s, it has quickly become just as iconic as Boba Fett’s.

Carrying the signets of both the Nite Owl and the Mythosaur, Bo-Katan’s armor signifies the merging of Mandalorians everywhere.

1The Armorer

Topping our list is the Armorer. Acting as a leader of the Mandalorians, the Armorer is a mysterious character who serves to give wise advice to those in need, while also maintaining the way of the Mandalore among her people. With a unique golden-horned beskar helmet and a fur coat over her armor, her gear is not only the coolest design onThe Mandalorian, but is also the most unique to ever hit theStar Warsscreen.
