Mark Watney isn’t the only astronaut we get to meet in the movie.Earlier footageintroduced us to the rest of hisAres 3crew, who, as you see in this latest sneak peek, mount a rescue mission to save their comrade againstNASA’s commands.Michael Peñais Rick Martinez, who considered himself a lot funnier than he actually is. Though, his own branded sense of self-humor never stands in the way of him becoming a true hero. Astronaut Melissa Lewis (Jessica Chastain) is the first ever woman commander of an Ares mission. She doesn’t have time for chauvinistic comments, and quickly proves herself to be one of the best leader’s NASA has ever had. And then there is German astronaut Alex Vogel, who knows his place in this story a little too well (do you think he’ll surivive?).
The last two members of the crew areSebastian Stanas Christopher Beck. He is the doctor on the crew. And then there isKate Mara, who plays Beth Johanssen. She’s the best at summing up this crew, and may hold the key to their ultimate survival.Ridley Scott’sThe Martianis in theaters this November, just in time for the Holidays. Some believe it will be the nextGravity. But withMatt Damonplaying a foul-mouthed comic book loving astro-botanist, this thriller definitely has a personality all its own.
