Anticipation is building for Fox’s highly-anticipatedX-Files Revival, which debuts this January, and we have already seen a number of trailers, with anew posterarriving from MIPCOM yesterday. For those who want to relive the original series, though, you’re in luck, sinceTV Shows on DVDhas confirmed that Fox Home Entertainment will be releasing a new Blu-ray box set that contains all nine seasons ofThe X-Fileson December 8. No special features details have been given yet, but you can take a look at the official product description below, whichTV Shows on DVDobtained through the consumer service Fox Connect.

Fox Home Entertainment hasn’t issued an official press release yet, but this set likely won’t include the two feature films spawned from the original series,The X-Files(1998) andThe X-Files: I Want to Believe(2008). The set will be priced at $299.00 SRP, containing all 202 episodes from the show’s incredible nine-season run. Since this set will be available nearly a month and a half before the {{12} debuts on Sunday, January 24, it’s possible this set will offer some sort of a sneak peek into the new six-episodeevent series.

The X-Filesalso starredMitch Pileggias Walter Skinner,William B. Davisas The Cigarette Smoking Man,Robert Patrickas John Doggett, Tom Braidwood as Melvin Frohike, Bruce Harwood as John Byers,Dean Haglundas Ringo Langley andAnnabeth Gishas Monica Reyes. All of these characters, except forRobert Patrick’s John Doggett, have been confirmed to return for theX-Files Revival, but it has been widely rumored that he will come back.Productionwrapped on the new series in early September.

Fans attending New York Comic-Con this weekend will get to attend the U.S. premiere of the revival’s pilot episode, which had its world premiere at MIPCOM in Cannes, France yesterday. TheX-Files Revivalwill debut with the premiere episode,My Struggle, on Sunday, January 24 after the NFC Championship Game on Fox, followed by the second episode,Home Again, on Monday, January 25 at 8 PM ET.
