Is ‘Carry-On’ Getting a Sequel?

Theo Rossi appeared in Netflix’sCarry-Onlast year, a suspense-filled thriller that also starred Taron Egerton, Sofia Carson, Jason Bateman, Danielle Deadwyler, Logan Marshall-Green, Dean Norris, and more. Rossi played one of the main villains who attempts to force a TSA agent into smuggling a dangerous nerve agent onto a plane. The film was an instant streaming hit for Netflix, which sparked rumors of a sequel being in development. However, fans of Carry-On shouldn’t get their hopes up if the director’s recent statement if anything to go by.

Earlier this year,Carry-Ondirector Jaume Collet-Serra revealed thatthere were no plans for a sequel. Despite the film’s success, it seems Netflix is not champing at the bit to get a follow-up greenlit. However, never say never, as Collet-Serra also asserted that there are certainly possible avenues to follow in aCarry-Onsequel.

Theo Rossi

“We don’t have any plans for a sequel. But if audiences wanted a sequel, families wanted a sequel and if we had an idea that would spark and live up to the original maybe we would do something. But right now, there are no plans.

There are no plans, but it’s fun to quietly talk about these things. These characters are great. Look at Danielle Deadwyler’s character, [detective Elena Cole], you’re able to see a world in which there’s a movie about her.”
