The upcomingVisionseries on Disney+ just announced some exciting casting news, including recasting an Academy Award nominee and also the confirmation of a fan-favorite anti-hero joining the franchise. While all eyes are onThe Fantastic Four: First Stepsand the upcoming releases ofSpider-Man: Brand New DayandAvengers: Doomsday, the television side of theMarvel Cinematic Universeis still going strong, and one of the most anticipated series isVision, under the working titleVision Quest. Overseen byStar Trek: Picard’s Terry Matalas,Visionwill pick up with the story of the reprogrammed White Vision last seen inWandaVisionback in 2021.
During aStar Trekconvention in Las Vegas, viaComic Book Movie, Visionshowrunner Terry Matalas confirmed thatStar Trek: Picardco-star Orla Brady would be taking over the role of F.R.I.D.A.Y.,Tony Stark’s A.I. assistant after J.A.R.V.I.S.Bradly will take over the role from Academy Award nominee Kerry Condon, who had voiced the character sinceAvengers: Age of Ultron. In addition, previously announced cast member Todd Stashwick was confirmed to be playing the character of Paladin, an anti-hero from Marvel Comics who is both a private investigator and bounty hunter.

‘Vision’ Could Be One of the MCU’s Most Exciting Titles
These casting revelations aroundVisionare big, both for the series and the wider MCU. The loss of Kerry Condon as F.R.I.D.A.Y. is certainly disappointing for fans who hoped to see the talented star finally make a physical appearance in the MCU after years of voice work. However, the actress previously alluded to not being part ofVisionduring the press forF1. With Brady stepping into the role of F.R.I.D.A.Y., it lends more weight to the idea that theVisionseries focuses on the various artificial intelligences of Tony Stark being given physical form. The series will also feature T’Nia Miller as Jocasta, one of Tony Stark’s A.I. options before choosing F.R.I.D.A.Y.Schitt’s CreekstarEmily Hampshire will play E.D.I.T.H., the A.I. fromSpider-Man: Far From Home.
Todd Stashwick’s confirmation to play Paladin is another interesting addition to the MCU. Created by writer Jim Shooter and artist Carmine Infantino, Paladin first appeared inDaredevil#150 back in January 1978 and has been an anti-hero and antagonist to many characters in the Marvel Universe. He is often a hired gun, drawing himself into conflict and allyship with the likes of the Punisher, Spider-Man, and Daredevil. He has been a member of the Heroes for Hire and even the Thunderbolts during the infamous Dark Reign storyline in the comics. His inclusion inVisionsuggests that someone hired him to hunt down Vision, but who exactly raises further questions. If popular, Stashwick’s Paladin could return as a fun cameo and connective tissue across a wide array of MCU titles.

Visionso far has no release date except for a 2026 release window. WithDaredevil: Born AgainSeason 2 debuting in March 2026, it is expected to run until April 2026, similar to Season 1. This means that Marvel Studios could debutVisionshortly before the release ofSpider-Man: Brand New Day inJuly 2026. If Marvel Studios opts to releaseVisionafterSpider-Man: Brand New Day, it might be one of the last titles released beforeAvengers: Doomsdaylooks to shake the foundation of the MCU. Even though it is unclear howVisionwill factor into the larger MCU story, what they are crafting seems to be interesting on its own merit.
