Timothy Olyphant, the star of films likeScream 2andRock Star, along withTV shows likeJustifiedandDeadwood, was once featured as a guest star in the NBC sitcomThe Office. But per his comments, he’s not quite happy with his work on the show. He calls his character “a little bit of a disappointment.”
Per the report by Cinema Blend,Olyphant visited Angela Kinsey and Jenna Fischer on their podcastOffice Ladies. Kinsey and Fischer played series regulars Angela and Pam, and in their show, they go through each episode of the series. A few performers fromThe Officehave shown up in several episodes, and when it was Olyphant’s turn, he recalled the experience of working on the series. While he makes it sound like an easy gig,it appears he’s not proud of his role:

“I’m sure I screwed up what would have been a really good scene with [Steve] Carell where I was —I just couldn’t stop laughing because it was so intense and funny. And there’s a little bit of a disappointment still there that I could not keep a straight face.”
Olyphant played Danny Cordray, a salesman who standsbetween Jim and Pam, as he’s part of her past, and now he’s competing against her current partner. Introduced in episode 5 of the seventh season,The Sting, Cordray was not just an awkward presence between Jim and Pam.He played the rival salesman who forces Michael Scott (Carell) to come out of his office and show his sales pitch skills.

After the team realizes they must pick Danny’s brain to uncover his secret for successful sales, they set up a sting operation that ends with Michael offering him a job at Dunder Mifflin. Of course, no one agrees with Michael’s unconventional decision because Danny would surely take all the clients.
The actor considered his stint in the show a major highlight. Years ago, he said this about his short participation in a few episodes ofThe Office: “I had a blast. It was a kick to do, and they couldn’t have been nicer. It’s such a fun show, the nature of the whole thing. The way they do it is just so fun and easy.”
