Titus Welliverhas shared an emotional response to the news thatBosch: Legacywill end with its upcoming third season on Amazon Freevee. The popular crime drama has been a 10-year journey for the actor, and one that he is certainly going to miss.Boschauthor Michael Connelly shared yesterday that the series, which is the follow-up to hugely successful Prime Video’s hit seriesBosch, is almost ready to unveil Season 3, but brought with itthe bittersweet reveal that the new run of 10 episodes will be the last.
Bosch: Legacy
Hieronymus “Harry” Bosch has retired from the LAPD and works as a private investigator. Defense attorney Honey “Money” Chandler has him work on some cases for her. His daughter, Maddie, navigates her first days as a patrol officer with the LAPD, working from Hollywood Station, where her father used to be assigned. Bosch investigates businessman Carl Rogers, who previously hired a hitman to kill Chandler.
Reacting to the news on his ownInstagramaccount, Welliver expressed his gratitude to the huge team that brought the show to life and to Connelly for delivering him a character that has become as iconic on screen as he is on the page. Welliver said:

“Ten years ago I had the incredible good fortune to be cast as Harry Bosch on the series Bosch . For 10 years I have had the tremendous privilege to work alongside the most amazing writers, producers and cast of actors all driven by the most hardworking and incredible crew. We have become a family, and I’m eternally grateful for every person involved in the tremendous effort it took to make the most substantive show out there. This all started with the genius and gift of Michael Connelly and his marvelous books. I could write a book (and maybe I will) on the years of joy I have experienced walking in Harry’s shoes. I will simply say thank you to all of you for making this the most rewarding and beautiful experience of my career.”
Bosch’s Journey is Not Necessarily Over
WhileBosch: Legacyis coming to an end, this is not going to be the last we have seen of Titus Welliver as the dogged detective Bosch on screen. In his original post confirming the end of the series, Connelly noted that the newBosch-universe series,Ballard, is on the way and teased that it will feature his most famous character.
Ballardis the latest spin-off fromBosch. The series will get a backdoor pilot duringBosch: Legacy, that will introduce the character and set up the new show, which will be based on Connelly’s stories of Renée Ballard, another detective who frequently crosses paths with Harry Bosch. As well as Connelly’s promise that “if you know anything about my books, then you know you have not seen the last of Harry Bosch,” Welliver himself previously teased that he is not quite done with the character yet. Speaking previously toCollider, Welliver explained:

“Well, we introduced her in the tenth episode of Season 3 of Legacy, which is coming out in 2025, and I am doing some episodes of the Ballard spin-off. We have to keep the universes together. Bosch and Bosch: Legacy is the mothership of all things, but the brand is the brand, so you can’t do Robin without having Batman.”
