Stop askingToby Kebbellabout his role in theFantastic Fourreboot that bombed upon its release in 2015. Ignoring the two priorFantastic Fourfilms that came before it, the 2015 movie was directed by Josh Trank with its titular team consisting of Miles Teller as Reed Richards, Kate Mara as Sue Storm, Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm, and Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm. Kebbell starred opposite the group as Victor Von Doom, the movie’s incarnation of the Marvel supervillain Doctor Doom.

Unfortunately for those involved,Fantastic Fourwas not a success. It underperformed at the box office, reportedly costing the studio tens of millions of dollars. Reviews were no better from those who’d seen the film, as it sits with an abysmal 9% score at Rotten Tomatoes; its audience score isn’t much higher at 18% rotten. Of course, this lack of success killed all plans to develop any sequels, and the new plan is to reboot the group once again with an all-new cast for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

About eight years later, Kebbell has addressed his role as Doom in the movie for what he hopes will be the last time. In a new interview withComicBook.comto promote his Apple TV+ seriesServant, Kebbell said in his own fun way that he doesn’t want to answer any more questions about the film, perhaps feeling embarrassed by his association with it. After noting how hisServantcharacter cooked his wife’s placenta, Kebbell was asked if he would rather eat “placenta puff” than answer anotherFantastic Fourquestion, and he had this to say in response.

“Definitely the placenta puff. I’d eat a whole croque en bouche of placenta puffs rather than be asked if I would go back and be terrible as Doctor Doom again. ‘Hey, you were terrible as Doctor Doom. Would you go back and do it again?’ Eh, no.”

Kebbell’sServantco-stars Neil Tiger Free and Lauren Ambrose tried to lift the actor’s spirits by telling him that he’s a talented actor, even if he happened to be in the dud that was theFantastic Fourmovie. Still, Kebbell went on to joke that he’s actually so bad at acting that he “ruin(ed) cinema,” also pointing out another box office bomb that he appeared in back in 2018.

“Hey guys, I’m inHurricane Heist, you don’t have to lie that I’m a good actor. I am in some of the worst movies of all time. I watchedPagemasteras a kid, and I was like, ‘This is a terrible movie,’ and I topped it. I didn’t realize I made it a goal of mine to ruin cinema, but I did it. I fully accomplished it.”

For what it’s worth,Servanthas been faring much better comparatively. Its most recent third season scored a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and it has also drawn high praise from horror masterminds like Stephen King and Guillermo del Toro. you’re able to find the series streaming on Apple TV+.
