After having Marvel’s wall-crawler fight in a brutal multiversal conflict inSpider-Man: No Way Home, Tom Holland wants to see the character he has portrayed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe face off against Morbius, The Living Vampire in the next film. In a recent interview with Fandango, while promoting MCU’s upcoming entryNo Way Home,Holland was asked what villain he would want his fan-favorite actor to face in a future potential film. Holland took a little pause before saying he’d love a story featuring Spider-Man taking on a vampire, praising Sony’s attempt to introduce the character in the upcoming film focusing on the character. He stated:
Morbius film looks really cool. And it’s quite scary, that film.

Morbius is a Marvel Comics character, created by Roy Thomas and Gol Kane, who, after a series of experiments voluntarily done on him, transforms into a blood-thirsty vampire with supernatural abilities. The character’s origin will be explored in the upcoming SSU film, Morbius, with Academy-Award winner Jared Leto essaying the role of the eponymous character. The character had been earlier mentioned in an easter-egg in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, post-which Sony rebooted the franchise in adjunction with Marvel Studios.
Holland also said,

I think Morbius could be quite a cool thing. [To mix that up]. Spider-Man versus a Vampire
Tom Holland’s Peter Parker has appeared in five movies (excluding hislatest cameo inVenom 2) and has fought numerous villains in both solo and cross-over battles inAvengersfilms. From facing Thanos, Holland’s Spidey has been pitted against Vulture and Mysterio inHomecomingandFar From Home, and is now set tofight villains from “every universe”including Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Lizard, Electro, and Sandman, who collectively could add one more villain to form the famous Sinister Six team.
Now thatMorbiusis hitting theaters after numerous delays due to the pandemic, Tom Holland feels that the rising possibilities of the two universes crossing over can bring up a fine chance of two characters colliding in the next Spider-Man movie. Meanwhile, Holland’s Spider-Man has already crossed over with Venom in the form of a post-credits sequence inLet There Be Carnage, whileVenom 3has reached planning stages, getting a green light from the studio, thus, confirming afuture battle between characters.
Holland also stated how he’d be glad to reunite with his previous two nemeses from the first two films in the trilogy and indulge in on-screen action with both Keaton and Gyllenhaal. Upon being asked his top three picks from Spider-Man villains he’d like his character to be pitted against, he replied,
I thinkVulture gotta be therebecause he’s my first. And Jake’s gotta be there because he’s my life.
Adding more about his recent collaboration with Willem Dafoe, he named the Green Goblin actor his third pick, stating:
And Willem. The fight scenes that we have with Willem in this film are so crazy and scary.
WithSpider-Man: Far From Home, Spider-Man is getting its own little universe within the larger MCU and theidea of a multiverse will finally open opportunitiesfor the character to cross between two parallel timelines. And sinceMorbiusitself hasso many Spider-Man references(that puts the movie at crossroads between multiple Spider-Man franchises), Tom Holland’s dream of seeing Morbius, The Living Vampire with Morbius doesn’t seem that far from being fulfilled.
