Transformers Oneis set to have a significant impact on the upcoming live-action movies in the franchise, according to the film’s producer. Starring Chris Hemsworth as Optimus Prime and Brian Tyree Henry as Megatron,Transformers Onetells the origin of the iconic hero and villain, as well as the planet they come from, Cybertron. In an interview withComicBook, longtimeTransformersproducer Lorenzo di Bonaventura discussed the animated film and how it could connect to its live-action counterparts. While he says that “it’d be really hard and complicated to have a direct link,” Bonaventura reveals the way thatTransformers Onehandles the characters and their stories will have a positive effect on how they are portrayed in other mediums. Nothing specific inTransformers Onecarries over into live-action, neither will they be canon to each other, but the animated film now serves as a benchmark for what future projects will strive to be.
“Josh [Cooley] did such a great job in actualizing the characters in this movie, and it is going to have an impact on the live-action where we can’t not meet that bar. It won’t be necessarily literally a character or an event, but it has an effect on what we’re gonna do. You want to do something different, and you also see where it can be successful. I think that’s where the two universes help each other. You can see what works, and you can do that in either one. The fun of it for me, as a filmmaker, is keeping them separate.”

It’s not clear if that film will be directly connected to theTransformerscrossover, or if Golding will reprise his role as Snake Eyes, but the actor did tease the"grand plans" the studio had in store for the upcoming film.
“I mean, Lorenzo di Bonaventura is a busy man and a phenomenal producer, and it’s in safe hands. Whatever happens, I think it’s going to be a combination of what has come and what is to come. I think Paramount have some grand, grand plans.”
