Dwight “The General” Manfredi (Sylvester Stallone) didn’t giveMartin Starr’scharacter Bodhi much of a choice when he muscled in on the entrepreneur’s weed business in Season 1 ofTulsa King.However, Dwight and Bodhi’s profitable partnership slowly evolved into a close friendship, too, and Starr states in a brand-new interview with Collider that he has read a pair of Season 3 scripts. Plus, the actor also reveals when production on the next batch of episodes finally begins. Starr said:
“I mean, I’ve only just read the first two scripts. We start production next week. I can’t tell you anything that I’ve read in those episodes, but I am excited. This new season is going to be a lot of fun. It looks already like there’s going to be a lot of action, and there are some loose ends that may or may not get tied up.”
Starr shares numerous important scenes with Sly over the course of the first two seasons, and even after having worked in Hollywood for the better part of 55 years, the Oscar-nominated Stallone still exhibits a tremendous work ethic at the age of 78. Plus, theRockycreator isn’t afraid to throw a few improvised punches when sparring with his acting partners while filming a scene. Starr said during the same sit-down (below):

“Lucky for me, [he] enjoys improvising. So, especially when it’s the two of us, we get to play around a little bit. There’s maybe not as much room in a bigger scene with a lot of cast to find moments or jokes that we can find on the day, but he does like to play with the dialogue, which I appreciate, and he likes comedy. We get to find new things in there and have fun. I appreciate it.”
‘Tulsa King’ Star Offers a Glimpse of Sylvester Stallone’s Unique Sense of Humor
Sylvester Stallone himself took to Instagram back in December 2024,teasing Season 3 ofTulsa King.Meanwhile, costar Martin Starr was busy working on the 16-minute short movieOut for Delivery,which just played at the South by Southwest (SXSW) film festival. Starr is an incredibly versatile performer with over 30 years' worth of acting credentials listed on his impressive resume. However, he joked that Sly didn’t have any inkling about the mountain of work he did prior to joiningTulsa King.Starr said in an interview with Rolling Stone:
“There’s no way this guy knows anything I’ve done. Somebody must have told him that I was good at comedy. He’s always been so respectful to me. To give him my thoughts on the comedy of the scenes and watch him respond because he respects what I bring to the table, is a pretty cool feeling.”
Starr even has a recurring role in Tom Holland’sSpider-Manfilms as Mr. Harrington. However, before he joined forces with Stallone inTulsa King,the actor who brings Bodhi to life on the small screen was a creative cog in several well-known comedies, includingKnocked Up, Superbad, This Is the End,andAdventureland.Those hilarious titles are worth mentioning because Starr ended up giving the fans a glimpse of Sly’s own unique sense of humor in the same interview. Starr said:
“Usually, he made a habit of going back to his trailer, but the cameras had gone out of the room, and he stuck around. It was just me and him and one of the grips. He got quiet for a second, and I was like, ‘How are you feeling, Sly?’ And he just said, ‘Superior.’ Me and the grip just laughed. What a funny response to this question — he must know how funny he is. But I can see why he feels superior. He’s got every right to at this point in his life.”
Tulsa KingSeason 3 hasn’t received an official release date, but fans should expect to reunite with The General sometime in the fall of 2025. Meanwhile, those who haven’t watchedthe must-see Taylor Sheridan seriescan stream and/or binge-watch Season 1 and Season 2 on Paramount+.
