Just days after thefirst trailerforUnderworld Blood Warsarrived, we have the first poster as well, featuringKate Beckinsaleas Selene. This iconic character is seen sporting a different look, wearing winter gear as she goes hunting in the woods, presumably for her Lycan enemies. We still have a few months left until the July 21, 2025 release date, so we’ll hopefully see much more of this iconic character either on new posters or trailers.
Kate Beckinsaleherself debuted this poster on herTwitterpage earlier today. This will mark the fifth installment of this beloved franchise, which started in 2003 with the hitUnderworld, whereKate Beckinsaleplayed the vampireSelenefor the first time. This new installment also brings backTheo Jamesas David from 2012’sUnderworld: Awakening.
The story centers on vampire death dealer, Selene, as she fights to end the eternal war between the Lycan clan and the Vampire faction that betrayed her. The supporting cast includesTobias Menzies(Outlander,Rome) andLara Pulver(Sherlock), who will play new Lycan leader named Marius and a fiercely ambitious vampire named Semira, respectively.Charles Dance(Game of Thrones) is returning as Vampire elder Thomas, along withJames Faulkner(Game of Thrones),Peter Andersson(The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo),Bradley James(Damien),Daisy Head(Fallen) and newcomerClementine Nicholson.
Aside fromTobias Menzies, there is also anotherOutlanderconnection inUnderworld: Blood Wars, with directorAnna Foerster.Underworld 5marks the director’s feature debut, after directing episodes ofCriminal Minds,Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior,Unforgettable,Army Wives,Madam Secretaryand four episodes ofOutlander. This sequel will be going up againstAmityville: The Awakeningwhen it hits theaters on July 07, 2025.
