Get ready to crawl out through the fallout once again, asWalton Gogginsrevealed production is officially underway onFalloutSeason 2. While his co-stars, Ella Purnell and Aaron Moten, got to wear comfy vault suits and fly around in high-tech, fusion-powered power armor, Goggins was buried under an intense layer of prosthetics to turn him into The Ghoul. Due to mutations in his DNA caused by extreme radiation, The Ghoul has wandered the wasteland for over 200 years, and transformed into a vicious killer. Goggins gave an intense performance as the ghoulish bounty hunter in Season 1, and he’s back to do it all again in Season 2, because, as anyFalloutfan will tell you… war never changes.

Walton Goggins took toInstagramto share the good news. The actor posted a photo from the make-up chair, as the incredible prosthetics team were applying The Ghoul’s face over his own. Teasing one side of his face, like the Phantom of the Opera, if the mask was switched, Goggins wrote:

“Back in the saddle… #Deux. Gatdamn it feels good to slip on this skin. I do this sh*t for the love of the Game.”

Back in October,Leslie Uggams revealed that Season 2 ofFalloutwould begin shooting soon. Thanks to Goggins, we now have official confirmation. Plot details about Season 2 are currently scarce. But, judging from the Season 1 finale, there are certain things we already know. Firstly, Season 2 will take audiences to New Vegas, Nevada. New Vegas is one of the most iconic locations from all theFalloutvideo games, and is being toughly fought over by the New California Republic (a growing government in the Wasteland) and the Caesar’s Legion (a group of Roman-inspired mercenaries).

‘Fallout’ Is Walton Goggins' “Most Difficult” Role

Walton Goggins clearly loves playing The GhoulinFallout, but it doesn’t come without its challenges. When the actor first wore the make-up for Season 1, he was terrified about his performance being lost under all the plastic and latex. “I’d sayFalloutis the most difficult, only because of the challenges of the prosthetics, not knowing what was gonna come through,” he admitted.

Macauley Culkin will be joining the post-apocalyptic series on its Season 2 return.

Goggins had also never played any of theFalloutvideo games. Even after he was cast, Goggins admitted that he purposefully steered clear of the games. He wanted his performance as The Ghoul to feel fresh, and not be too inspired by any past ghouls from the games. He explained, “I never played the game. So when this kind of came my way, I didn’t want to play it ‘cause I didn’t want to be influenced by whatever version of The Ghoul is in the games.”

FalloutSeason 2 hasn’t been given an official release date yet. But, we do know that Goggins (obviously), Ella Purnell, and Aaron Moten are all confirmed to return. Leslie Uggams will also reprise her role as Overseer Betty Pearson. Kyle MacLachlan has not confirmed that he’s returning for Season 2, but considering Lucy (Purnell) and The Ghoul areviciously chasing him to New Vegas,it is a safe assumption.
