Get ready for war everyone, becauseape Caesaris home! After more than two years of waiting to see what is going on in the war between apes and humans, the first trailer forWar for the Planet of the Apeshas arrived. This time around, the apes are getting ready to have a full on war with the humans and things are looking pretty grim for the characters in the movie, but pretty awesome for fans.

20the Century Foxhas debuted the First trailer and poster for War for the Planet of the Apes. In the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise starring Andy Serkis and Woody Harrelson, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. As has been the case with the previous two installments of the franchise, a totally new set of human cast members has been shuffled in.Judy Greer,Steve ZahnandWoody Harrelsonhave all joined the cast ofWar for the Planet of the Apes, but some very important cast members are returning.Max Lloyd-Jonesis returning as the ape Blue Eyes,Terry Notaryis back as Rocket but most importantly,Andy Serkishas come back to reprise his now very iconic role as Caesar the ape. At this point it would be inconceivable to do the movies without him, so fans should be happy to see the motion capture pioneer back.

2014’sDawn of the Planet of the Apestook a 15-year jump forward in time, following the events portrayed inRise of the Planet of the Apes. DirectorMatt Reeveshas stated thatWar for the Planet of the Apesis going to take place shortly afterDawn of the Planet of the Apes, without a major time jump like happened last time. That would make sense given what happened at the end of the last movie, as there seems to be quite a bit to settle in the current timeline that has been established.
