Netflix has released the official trailer forWHAM!, a new documentary providing a deep dive into the famous English pop duo consisting of Andrew Ridgeley and the late George Michael. Formed in the early 1980s, WHAM! would go on to break up in 1986, but not before making a big mark in pop culture together during those five years.WHAM!takes viewers along for the entire ride from the formation of the duo through their rise to great success, along with their enduring legacy. In 1982, the best of friends and still teenagers - George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley as WHAM! set out to conquer the world. By June of 1986 they played their very last gig at Wembley Stadium having done exactly that. Now for the very first time, told in their own words, the amazing story of how in four years they dominated the charts around the world with timeless and classic pop songs. Hit after hit - Club Tropicana, Wake Me Up Before You Go Go, Freedom, I’m Your Man and of course Last Christmas. Their time in the spotlight was white-hot, becoming the very first western pop act to play in China.It was a time that both encapsulated and epitomised not just their youth, but also those of the many millions of fans that adored them. WHAM! Chronicles the Rise of the Iconic Duo

Four decades after debuting their first album,Fantastic, the legacy of WHAM! still shines brightly. Fans still remember their hit songs fondly, such as “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go,” “Everything She Wants,” and “Careless Whisper.” After splitting up, George Michael would find even greater success with his solo career before he passed away in 2016. Andrew Ridgeley largely moved away from making music, though he’d sometimes reunite with Michael to perform.

This documentary marks the latest from Netflix, as the streamer has been expanding its documentary content. WhenWHAM!was announced, it was also revealed that the streamer was developing other docs on Robbie Williams David Beckham, and the Fury family.
