Production is expected to begin onX-Men: Apocalypselater this month in Montreal, under the direction ofBryan Singer. While several cast members are already in place, directorBryan Singerannounced on his Twitter page today thatLucas Tillis reprising his role as Havok fromX-Men: First ClassandX-Men: Days of Future Past.X-Men: Apocalypseis already confirmed to be set in the 1980s, and it will be the last installment in this new trilogy, afterX-Men: First ClassandX-Men: Days of Future Past.
Lucas Tilljoins a growing cast that also includesOscar Isaac(Apocalypse),Alexandra Shipp(Storm),Sophie Turner(Jean Grey),Tye Sheridan(Cyclops),Rose Byrne(Moira McTaggert),Kodi Smit-McPhee(Nightcrawler},Ben Hardy(Angel),Lana Condor(Jubilee) andOlivia Munn(Psylocke).X-Men: First ClassandX-Men: Days of Future PaststarsJames McAvoy(Professor X),Michael Fassbender(Magneto),Jennifer Lawrence(Mystique),Nicholas Hoult(Beast) andEvan Peters(Quicksilver) are also expected to return for the sequel. There have also been rumors thatHugh Jackman’s Wolverine,Halle Berry’s old Storm andChanning Tatum’s Gambit will make cameo appearances.
What’s interesting is Havok, a.k.a. Alex Summers, is the younger brother of Scott Summers, a.k.a. Cyclops (Tye Sheridan). However,Lucas Tillis 24 years old, whileTye Sheridanis 18. It’s worth noting thatX-Men: First Classis set in the 1960s, whileX-Men: Days of Future Pastis set in the 1970s. While it may pose some logistical issues, since nearly 30 years will have spanned in the movie’s timeline, but only five years have passed in real time, these characters are, after all, mutants, and, as we’ve learned from Logan, they may not exactly age like everyone else. Still, how canLucas Tillplay the “younger brother” to an actor who is six years younger than him? We’ll have to wait until more information is released about the plot, but, until then, check out directorBryan Singer’s posts on Instagram and Twitter below.
